Just finished a really good book. It was sent to me to review by Revell Books and I admit I was hesitant at first. I am not a huge fan of the Amish genre. I’ve only read two books previously and was irritated by the rebellious attitudes and the sameness of them. But this book is really good. It is written by Suzanne Woods Fisher… a new author for me. She does a great job of showing the struggle and different sides of the coin without the lack of respect and and outright hostile rebellion in the other books I read. I definitely recommend it.
Very tender story and I loved being there through the MC’s growth and deeper understanding of what it means to have a relationship with God rather than just following the rules. The support characters were well done as well. There were a few areas I felt could have been fleshed out a bit more, but overall… a great read.
