Settling in

by Sunny on October 7, 2008

It has been a busy week! We are moved into our new apartment and really enjoying it. Lots more space, sunshine, a dishwasher, an oven that works… the list goes on and on. The friends basement was a gift from God and we are SOOOO grateful… but a place of our own is so amazing!!!

And my mom came up with a vanload from NY so I have some of my favorite stuff that was left there. An expensive rice cooker, breadmaker, mixer, blender, chopper, pasta maker, crockpot… the list goes on and on! So now I am getting the house set up… almost done.

It is amazing what little things you take for granted. We needed to buy hangers… didja ever try to get along without hangers??? Or towels? How about garbage cans? But we are nearly outfitted now.

Its amazing what you can do without when you really have to. It has made me appreciate all the little stuff and really notice all the many things I have to be grateful for.

How about you? ARe there things in your life that make it special that you don’t tend to notice? Take the time to notice today… write them down… tell God thank you!

Canadian Thanksgiving is Monday… the same day as my birthday! I will have lots to enjoy that day this year. Everyday till then I will try to mention at least one thing that I am grateful for that isn’t in the usual list. Today was garbage cans, towels and hangers. Got any of your own to share?

I am very thankful for food in the cabinets when I’m especially hungry. Thankful for my great friends who inspire and challenge me:)

Happy almost birthday, Shirley!

YAY…I am so glad to hear that you are in your own place. It has been a long journey for you, dear, and you have done so well along the way. I hope your birthday is a great one as you give thanks for all that God has brought you through.
