Tomorrow is the beginning of a NEW adventure. I signed up with something called Event Horizon Planning. You pay a VERY small fee and they send you a huge list of field trips and activities. Everything from a farm trip, to zoo trip, to symph0nies, to forts, etc!
Monday is our first trip. We are going to the U of M to learn about weather.. here is the description…
World of Weather
Geared for ages 6 to 12. Students will learn about how sun, air and water affect the weather. Students will build their own weather instrument including a thermometer and anemometer and compare different types of clouds. Will use a stop watch to calculate wind velocity.
Pretty exciting, huh? One problem. I have to take the bus.I have avoided this evil for almost 10 years now. I gotta tell you… bus schedules make no sense to me whatsoever. Now… I am a great problem solver and have a very high IQ, but they make my head spin. Ick. So tomorrow will indeed be an adventure.
I shall imagine it to be a journey on a ship in the ocean. I will have to protect my charges from pirates and sea monsters and make it to our destination in time to claim our treasure.
Ok… I better go see if I can figure this thing out.
EESH.. I nearly forgot to plan out the trip home! Is this really worth it?? Oh well… chalk up another adventure in the saga of Shirley. I’ll let ya know tomorrow if we had any shipwrecks or deserted island experiences.

Sounds like you’re going to have a great time. Good luck with the bus – I’m not one for the bus much either.
Have fun! (and of course I thought U of M was the University of Michigan!) You’ll do fine. Not crazy about busses either, but you’ll do it like a champ, I’m sure!
