One pound.

OK… I found a plus of having pneumonia! I lost about three pounds and it’s not inching back! Woohoo!!!

A pound doesn’t seem like much when you look at how much you have to lose, but there are ways to break it down to make it seem much more tangible and doable…

Lets say I have to lose 100 pounds… theoretically ;-)

I just lost 3. I only have to do that 33 more times. Wow. Now thats reachable.

A pound doesn’t seem like much, as I’ve said, but look at this picture! (I realize the pic is too big but I can’t seem to shrink it and it’s perfect for the point I am making… so deal with it… LOL)

That one pound blob has got to be the size of my fist! One pound gone is HUGE!

So if you have lost a pound this week… give yourself a pat on the back. If you’ve gained one pound, well, you might want to go back and look at that picture again.

Is that lump worth that bowl of ice cream, or seconds on supper, or how about that Christmas (or Valentines Day) chocolate?

I think I’ll be putting healthier food on my grocery list today. I want to lose another one of those fist sized blobs!

Thank you for posting that picture :) . Icky yet very effective!

So, I’d like to return the favour: I was really sick with a virus a couple of months ago and after I got better, I had no energy to hop on the treadmill. I needed something to tone, get my heart going, without a lot of input. And I found it: kettlebells.

Basically, they are like weights, except they are shaped like kettles. Basically, you can do the typical kettlebell walk, which is just exagerated arm and leg movements, around the house. You sweat, tighten, tone and really sculpt! Here’s a list of gyms in Canada that offer kettlebell workouts: http://www.sharesavvy.ca/cities/toronto/reviews/812

I just came for one class, got the sheet of movements and then left! Heehee

take care,
Christina

Jumping over from Twitter.

That’s some inspiration. How about putting that one on the frig?

Let’s keep making the right choices!! Change comes with consistent right choices.

Have a blessed day.

Shirley I know exactly what you are saying!! Spark peaople taught me that if you break down your goals ….say like just lose one pound this week….it is so much more reachable than say ….oh my I have to lose 20 pounds :s AND its so much easier!!!

Now its just to get that motivation to lose hahah!!!

Hi Shirley
I agree that the picture is worth a thousand words! I just lost ‘3′ pounds too…not easy though. Much harder than it used to be.
Anyway I am motivated to lose at least ‘10′…and get the ‘cholesterol’ good. As I get older I can clearly see that ‘habits’ can make us or break us. Thank the Lord, He can give us new ones!
See you when we get back!!

I’ve been losing quite a bit of weight but only because I have only been eating one meal a day because I am so busy lol. Otherwise I’d be pigging out I’m sure.

Speaking of pounds, I saw the movie “Seven Pounds” with Will Smith and cannot figure out for the life of me why they called it that. The title doesn’t fit with the movie. Oh well… :)
