We are working on the character quality of gratefulness as a family. Tonight, amidst tears and sniffling, Braeden shared a deep truth with me. “Mommy, gratefulness is hard.”
Ha! No kidding. You ain’t any idea, kiddo. Just wait!
Later Braeden commented that God is the gentlest person ever. I agreed but pointed out that He is also the greatest warrior ever. Wow, did that ever get their attention. I reminded them that He is going to be fighting in the battle at the very end of this earth. Oh yeah, and he is going to be riding a white horse. Merry about popped when she heard that. “A horse!?! I’m going to kiss it!” She kisses everything lately. “I am going to go up to Him and say… ‘Jesus, you have a very nice horse.’”
Then Zach wanted to know if He would be using a gun or a sword. I braced myself because I knew the response that was coming. “A sword, Zach.”
“Awesome!!!” Typed words don’t quite communicate the passion infused into that single word.
Don’t kids have a way of making the Word more exciting and intriguing?!
