Home Safe

So we made it there and back again! We almost missed our first bus because the sidewalks (and everywhere except the road) was a solid sheet of ice. I had to wave at the bus to get the driver’s attention so he wouldn’t leave us!

Other than that we didn’t have any problems. A drunk sat behind us for a while on one bus… he exuded alcohol. Literally. Ugh.

The class was great. The kids got to do experiments and take 2 of the 3 home. The made a thermometer and a windmill looking thing that spins in the wind… forgot the name but it looks a lot like a windmill. Braeden walked through the campus holding it up for the wind to catch. He had a lot of fun with that and I think some of the college students did to :-) !! On the first bus to go home, I sat by a partly open window. OF COURSE I had to keep holding that thing up my the window for him to watch.

The students teaching the class were great. Except at the end. They taught the kids about lightning and used a styrofoam pie plate and an aluminum pie plate to generate static electricity.. then you touch it and see a blue streak. He encouraged the kids to go home and try it out by rubbing their feet on the carpet and touch their mom and dad. Thanks a lot.

Anyway… the class was great, no problems catching the right buses, weather was fine. But we left at 9 and got home at 3 for a 1 1/2 hour class. I’m not sure that it was worth it. Hopefully we can get the van or Matt can take us next time!

Sounded like fun, though. Glad you made it and were safe!
