It's so tempting to do. I enjoyed the story and characterization. I know one thing I'm working on is making the setting a strong character. I don't see that as a big issue here. I remember commenting on it, and reading it again was a pleasure. :) Suggestions? Make the time period more obvious from the beginning. I didn't realize it was a period piece until the bowl and pitcher of warm water were mentioned. I had the wrong picture in my head. And the beginning still bothers me. ;) Maybe something like this to make it clearer? <i>"An image filled my mind: Amy, the loveliest young lady I’d ever met. I LOVE the rest – the “meat” of the story is great – very descriptive – I could see the scene all of the action, and the ending is just perfect. I hope this helps! This is a wonderful piece.
