Wonderful story and funny, too! REALLY loved the ending - "...anyone can learn to fish. Good character is harder to come by."

I loved the lesson here, it's true so many others would have fallen to anger or blame. It's so tempting to do. I enjoyed the story and characterization. I know one thing I'm working on is making the setting a strong character. I don't see that as a big issue here. I really enjoyed this!

I enjoyed this piece, both on FW and again today. It's a great reminder of the importance of godly character -especially in a potential mate.

Hi Shirley, I really like this story! I remember commenting on it, and reading it again was a pleasure. :)

Suggestions? Make the time period more obvious from the beginning. I didn't realize it was a period piece until the bowl and pitcher of warm water were mentioned. I had the wrong picture in my head. And the beginning still bothers me. ;) Maybe something like this to make it clearer? <i>"An image filled my mind: Amy, the loveliest young lady I’d ever met. She was sweet, kind, and loved the Lord..."</i>

I LOVE the rest - the "meat" of the story is great - very descriptive - I could see the scene all of the action, and the ending is just perfect. I hope this helps! This is a wonderful piece.

Love
