Today is Canada Day! Happy Canada Day!!!
I’ve been thinking a lot about the red and white of Canada’s flag today. Braeden is learning about light. Did you know that light is actually white? And by being white… that means it has all of the colors in it.
When light hits something it absorbs certain waves (colors) and reflects the others. The waves (colors) it reflects are what goes into our eyes and register as colors. So if I see a shirt as yellow… yellow is what it does NOT absorb and is reflected into my eye.
Black, on the other hand, is when ALL the waves (colors) are absorbed and none are reflected.
Ok… there is a great analogy here. Jesus is light. THE Light, in fact. He is pouring Himself into me. Am I simply absorbing (not in a good way), like a black hole that has no outlet or substance? Or am I reflecting His character out for others to see.
The red of the flag is his blood. When he looks at me He sees red and white. White… the light I reflect from Him! And the red… His death paid for all my sin so His blood is what He sees instead of the black of my sin.
I’m afraid I am a bit of a black hole right now, but… what color do others see when they look at you?
